I really like Outlook but at this time I am still using MS Office H&B for Mac 2011. I also have used Outlook 2016 for Windows which has been ok. I read recently that MS will be releasing Office 2019 sometime this year in 2018 so you might want to wait to see how the new MS Office pans out before deciding on a full move to the Apple mail app. I personally didn't like the look, the feel and the features of the mail app compared to Outlook when I first tried it years ago with Lion and Mavericks.

I still have Outlook on my Dell laptop (which I rarely use now), but use Apple's mail app on the iMac. I have an Office subscription for the iMac, mainly for Excel which works great on the Mac, but I could not setup Outlook the way I wanted. Since I run my own email servers, I have several email addresses for various situations (online purchases, subscriptions, personal, business).
