The iPhone version of OneNote is really NOT an iPhone version of OneNote - rather it's an iPhone version of OneNote Mobile. Which is a very limited mini-OneNote.

It's fine for mobile use on a pocket-device with a 3.5' screen, but you wouldn't be that happy with it as a desktop app. It doesn't support ink, has a limited amount of formatting options, no internal hyperlinks (as far as I know), etc. If you want to run OneNote on your Mac you already have a number of options for doing that. The easiest, but most limited, would be to use OneNote WebApp in your browser (IE or Firefox). That's free and you can do it now.

There are quite a few postings here requesting OneNote -- and therefore other Office apps -- for the Mac OS. Microsoft may very well be working feverishly to produce Office components for the Mac OS.

It's not something I normally keep track of, since I'm not a Mac user. As Ben indicated, making Office apps available under the Mac OS involves a huge rewrite of the applications, not just changing a few lines of code and slapping a Mac label on it.
