Google Maps 3d For Mac
When viewing Google Maps in Satellite mode on Chrome Version 57.0.2987.110 (64-bit), there is no 3D button, and at the very bottom it says '3D Earth view is not available'. The 3D button appears and works in Firefox 52.0.1 (64-bit) and Safari 10.0.3 (12602.4.8), as one would expect on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) running macOS Sierra 10.12.3 (16D32) with NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M. Chrome worked with 3D until about a week ago, and just stopped.
I've reinstalled, nothing helps. What could cause this?

It's possible the problem won't exist on a future version. Let me know if it works, cheers. Lundissimo 24/3/2017, 18:05 น. WELL, I found a solution that's even more of a mystery than the problem. I followed a 'See map' link in a blog post, and was brought to a view of London, full 3D enabled in Chrome.
How could this be??? The link brought be to instead of my normal. Yes, when viewing, my Chrome browser recognizes my Mac's GPU and enables 3D in satellite view; going back to, no 3D and I'm told my machine lacks the capability! So here in NYC, I've changed my Home page to until they get this straight. Maybe this will provide a clew to developers as to how to fix Chrome and/or their server to use 3D on a MacBook Pro with GPU acceleration.
Glad it's sorted for you, I remember how annoying it was for me when 3D view stopped working for no reason! I'm a heavy maps user and a web developer so I tinkered with developer tools and stumbled across this fix.
I suspect that this is a bug in Google Maps where local storage DB's are used if the browser supports them (ie; Chrome). When I first found it I discovered that it was a single DB value that was causing it, but I didn't write the key down as it's just easier to wipe the whole local DB for Google Maps and I felt that that was a more robust fix.
A new foundation for Maps. Maps is being rebuilt from the ground up to better reflect the world around you. The new underlying map uses Apple data and features enhanced geographic context like pedestrian paths and parks, more detailed building outlines and parking lots, better road network coverage, and more. You’ll also be able to get where you’re going with improved routes, whether you’re on the road or on foot. The new Maps is now available in Northern California and is coming soon to the rest of the United States.
