Vlc Streamer Helper For Mac Os

Mar 20, 2018  VLC Streamer will not play DRM protected videos. (Videos from the iTunes store do include DRM). VLC Streamer is designed to work on your local wifi network, and the free helper app has to run on your Mac or PC.

I have Mac OS X Server running VLC Helper app. I use VLC Streamer app on iPad and iPhone, works like a charm at home, stream movies and everything i need to. I have VPN set up on my home server and can connect successfuly both with iPad, iPhone and Mac Pro from anywhere. However, when connected to VPN i can not 'see' the home server using iPad VPN, even though I input the local address (IP) of the Server into the iPad VLC Streamer app. Do you know what I should do or how can i actually 'see' my files which i wish to stream over VPN? Thanks for getting back to me! I had Send all traffic already enabled. And NO, it is still not working. Some suggestions arose I should first be looking into getting the Bonjour working over VPN, which at the moment I think is not working as well (on MacPro using VPN connected to home server). I can not see my 'server' in the sidebar, but i can use CMD+K to connect to any of the shares, which as mentioned are not visible by themselves. Possibly the trouble lies here.

No, unfortunately not. Due to security reasons, the only way I would like to connect is via VPN, that means not opening additional ports or anything, as this makes my server vulnarable on that port as VLC helper only has standard password and after that you can browse everything on server. Having VPN, as i understand, makes a 'safe' tunnel connection to my home network as if I was there.

And if that indeed would work, so should VLC Streamer. Except it does not 😟 I can not see my server via iPad VLC Str.

Windows media player for mac os x free download. App nor can I see my server by deafult in sidebar of MacBook Pro when connected via VPN. And that makes me wonder what I should do to first enable that. As soon as i do, i suppose also streamer app will work.
