The Tape-Out of my integrated amp will overload the Behringer and cause it to clip. The computer's volume control is of no use since the clipping occurs on the front end of the Behringer UCA202. YOU NEED AN OUTBOARD VOLUME CONTROL FOR THIS TO WORK EFFECTIVELY! I bought a Rolls MX42 Mini Mixer from B&H which works very well with the Behringer. With proper signal attenuation this unit will create 16 bit 44.1Khz WAV files of superb quality equal to a CD.

But in this price range, you are not supposed to be comparing those items anyway. It works great with an old field recording laptop (IBM Thinkpad with Windows XP 32 bit) and has low latency. The built in headphone monitoring is helpful as well. The volume control doesn't track well at the very minimum of its setting, but works well when above 25%.

It does exactly what it's supposed to do, without any fuss whatsoever. The sound quality is vastly superior to what I was getting via the headphone jack on my laptop. Very small and portable, and the UCA202's own headphone jack is a great bonus, sounding a lot better than the built-in one on my laptop. Highly recommended.
